When politicians use these skewed metrics to gauge public opinion, they are not interacting with the electorate, but with a hyper-partisan minority. This creates a feedback loop that can undermine the actual needs and voices of the broader population.

The Sustainability Paradox

The ‘artificial state’ faces a built-in existential crisis. To maintain the massive digital and physical infrastructure required for algorithmic rule—such as sprawling data centers—the system requires immense amounts of natural resources, including energy and water. This creates a paradox: the digital state must exploit the natural world to exist, yet its very expansion threatens the stability of the environment it relies upon.
