How ZCAT’s Reward Engine Works
Anonymous Cat, known as ZCAT, levies a 3% tax on every token transfer. Most of that revenue is swapped into zcash (ZEC) and sent to wallets holding at least $20 worth of ZCAT, according to the project’s own dashboard. The result: roughly 2,320 ZEC — valued at around $2.8 million — has been handed out across more than 470,000 individual payouts.
ZEC’s Rally Amplifies Every Payout
Zcash has climbed more than 2,300% over the past twelve months and crossed the $1,200 mark late Sunday, driven by resurgent demand for privacy-focused coins. Zcash’s unique selling point is its ability to obscure sender, receiver, and transaction amounts, positioning it as the most direct play on a potential privacy-sector comeback.
For investors preferring a regulated route, Grayscale launched a spot Zcash ETF on NYSE Arca in late August, offering exposure through a U.S.-listed fund without the need to self-custody ZEC.
ZCAT’s Own Price Swing
The token itself moved sharply over the weekend, briefly touching around 19 cents before retreating to roughly 13 cents by Monday. Its market capitalization sits near $124 million, with 24-hour trading volume around $22 million — all settled against ZEC through StonkFun, a Solana launchpad that supports non-SOL trading pairs.
Memecoins Take Over Robinhood Chain
Cat-themed tokens are enjoying a broader wave of attention. Cash Cat, for instance, became a cult favorite after Robinhood Chain launched in July, partly because the name predates Robinhood’s current branding. One trader reportedly turned an $800 stake into over $1 million during the token’s first week.
The trend has only accelerated: memecoin applications now dominate activity on Robinhood Chain, with token-creation platform Pons recording over 22,000 new tokens in a single day and generating millions in user fees.
The Risk Behind the Rewards
It is important to understand that ZEC payouts to ZCAT holders come from other users buying, selling, and transferring the token — not from any revenue-generating business. If trading volume drops, the reward pool shrinks proportionally. Buying ZCAT remains, at its core, a bet that a cat-themed token can sustain enough attention to stay liquid.
